Consumer Insights Analyst
The Consumer Insights Analyst runs the cycle of consumer data to decisions. This cycle involves gathering data, turning data into information, taking information to develop insight, and then using that insight to aid in business decisions. This position is responsible for developing analysis and all reporting processes. The Consumer Insights Analyst acts as an expert on Van Beek data, supporting several departments within the business with insightful and actionable data analysis.
Essential Job Responsibilities
1. Sales and Marketing Analytics
a. Build reports for management and sales as required, including daily, monthly, quarterly, annual sales by product and by territory.
b. Work directly with marketing to measure and analyze data on all marketing activities.
c. Run preliminary territory sales commission reports.
d. Audit process of all distributors reporting into system for accuracy of customer sales data.
e. Lead the development of the CRM system with an emphasis on accurate data input and ease-of-use.
f. Tell stories with data and propose analytical solutions instilling confidence to leaders making operational and strategic business decisions.
2. Data Capture and Clarification
a. Gather all leads, organize them, and de-duplicate. This includes all marketing sources (tradeshows, e-blasts, and fax, etc.)
b. Research new markets gathering demographic data, product mix, and competitive data, product distribution, from manufacturer to end user.
c. Set up and monitor sales in product categories utilizing Power BI. Report analysis of information to management.
d. Create static and dynamic new reports.
e. Assist with corporate data analysis requests to track corporate metrics and KPI’s.
f. Manage expectations by communicating project plans, features, and statuses to business stakeholders.
3. Financials: Forecasts, Rebates and Credits
a. Assist sales and marketing management in providing clarified reports to gauge future sales of current product lines and new opportunities. Provide clear information for the entirety of the team.
b. Work with sales, customers, and suppliers on any rebates owed to the company or that VBNS owes. This includes monthly promotions (free goods offers), tradeshow promotions, and year-end rebates (contracts).

Education, Reasoning Ability & Experience
A bachelor’s in finance / business or related field with courses in finance, mathematics, economics, or statistics.
One to two years’ experience in analytics preferred.
Communication and Language Skills
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Conveys thoughts clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Capacity to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.
Communicate professionally, refrain from foul and inappropriate language.
Other Skills & Abilities
1. Technical skills regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
2. Microsoft Office products, and Apple software knowledge.
3. Interpersonal and organizational skills.

Travel & Other Requirements
This position may require some overnight travel.
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Required to sit and use computer, handle paperwork, also to stand and use hands and fingers to grasp and hold objects, tools and/or controls, likewise reach with arms and hands. The employee is also, at times, exposed to fumes and or airborne particulates.
This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
