General Responsibility Statement

The Information Technology Technician provides IT support, phone support, and oversight of all communication and equipment needs. This position is responsible for implementing existing and new hardware and software technologies and training employees on how to properly use them. The IT Technician is responsible for daily activities of all technology products in relationship to approved policies, procedures, and work instructions.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Information Technology Technician
1. Information Technology Support
- Evaluate and track all computers, tablets, and printers.
- Upgrade, repair, troubleshoot, and train hardware.
- Install, upgrade, train, and troubleshoot software.
- Assist contracted IT support to resolve issues and assist with evaluating and purchasing hardware and software systems.
- Execute regular ADP upgrades on time clocks and other technology pertaining to ADP.

2. Employee Equipment Management
- Update and maintain current instructions for technology use in the conference room.
- Maintain updated phone extension and cell numbers list in the server room.
- Set up equipment for new employees (computer, printer, key fobs, etc).
- Process termination of equipment and system needs in employee exits.
- Assist employees in printer problem solving.

3. Telephone and Cell Phone Support
- Manage all corporate telephone and cell phone contracts, renewals, replacement plan, and budget.
- Assist employees with cell phone and I-pad setup and problem solving.
- Facilitate telephone calls to carrier as needed.
- Track cell phone, telephone, and equipment budget. Log equipment and data usage.

4. Other Duties
- This position shall support its manager and shall ensure that all department members are cross -trained on the position responsibilities.
- Willing to receive input and direction from all members of the Executive team.
- Willing to help the production department as needed.

Education, Reasoning, Confidentiality Ability & Experience
An Associates Degree in an Information Technology related field preferred. Must be capable of handling sensitive information in a completely confidential manner – particularly, corporate intellectual property. Helpdesk experience is preferred. Experience with diverse software and hardware.

Communication and Language Skills
Works well with others in one-on-one and in group situations. Must be able to communicate effectively to a wide range of employees from entry level to upper management. Verbal and written communication skills. Customer service skills. Presenting technical information.

Travel Requirements
This position does not typically require overnight travel.

Physical Demands
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Required to sit and use computer, handle paperwork, also to stand and use hands and fingers to grasp and hold objects, tools and/or controls, likewise reach with arms and hands. The employee is also, at times, exposed to fumes and or airborne particulates.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position may have direct improvement processes, projects, and plans, however; will supervise processes at the involvement of the VP of Operations and the contracted IT support leaders.
