Information Technology Specialist

Work as the Information Technology Supervisor to support Van Beek Natural Science and their sister companies in the delivery of high quality, consistent health products, nutraceuticals, and nutritional supplements for animals. The Information Technology Supervisor will complete this mission by helping support all Van Beek Companies by providing database services, IT support, phone support, and oversight of all communication and equipment needs. The IT Support Supervisor is responsible for budgeting and implementing existing and new hardware and software technologies and training employees on how to properly use them.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Evaluating and tracking all computers, tablets, printers
Hardware upgrades, hardware repair and hardware troubleshooting
Server and network management including backups
Software installation, software upgrades, software training and software troubleshooting
Software installation, upgrades, troubleshooting
Hardware upgrades and Troubleshooting including minor hardware repair
Assisting with evaluating and purchasing hardware and software systems
Server & network management including backup services on request
General Knowledge of Programing Minor software development Training on hardware and software systems
Other duties as agreed to by the parties Phone – extension #’s given for both local number and cell phone and put that into the server system.
ADP upgrades on time clocks or other information pertaining to ADP

Printer problem solving:
Instruction set up for different uses in the conference room (computer to TV – conference calls) – some of this is already set up in a binder
Set up with equipment for new employees (computer, printer, key fobs, etc)
Termination process of employee’s leaving VBNS, VBN or TMI – closing down their email and any other licenses that may be active on that employee.

Telephone / Cell Phone Support:
Manage all corporate telephone and cell phone contracts, renewals, replacement plant, budget with providers and corporate accounting/direct supervisor.
Assists employees with cell phone, I-pad setup and problem solving
Assists with triaging telephone calls to carrier as needed.
Logs and tracks telephone and cell phone budge, equipment assignments, data usage, etc.

Budgeting / Purchasing Management:
Managing computer expenses and capital purchases to the company budget or as approved by direct supervisor
Purchasing hardware and software systems as directed and approved by direct supervisor.
Logs and tracks equipment assignments, repairs, updates, and implements a cycle of maintenance.
Manage corporate equipment contracts, renewals, negotiations in collaboration with management.
Manages continual information technology process and equipment improvement planning.

An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, network & communications or related degree preferred.

Work Experience:
Four or more years of practical experience preferred.

Skills Required:
Experience with multiple program languages and diverse software and hardware. Technical understanding, networking knowledge, presenting technical information, verbal and written communication, documentation skills, customer service.

Communication and Privacy skills:
Works well with others in one-on-one and in group situations. Must be able to communicate effectively to a wide range of employees from entry level to upper management. The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals is required. Must be capable of handling sensitive information in a completely confidential manner - particularly, corporate intellectual property. Intellectual property is commonly known as patents, trade secrets, copyrights, and trademarks. Protected information would include: shipping techniques, manufacturing processes, marketing techniques, formulas, data, business procedures, research and development. Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, talk, or listen. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, grasp, and feel with hands. Reach and push with arms. The employee must occasionally bend, turn, or lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to noise, fumes, and dust particles in the manufacturing environment. Protective equipment is available as needed.

Other Skills and Abilities:
Information Technology Supervisor will understand basic computer and keyboarding skills. They must be familiar with Microsoft Office products, to include: Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, etc. Other software includes: Fishbowl, Feed Mill Manager, Quick Books, CRM, FTGs, UPS, FedEx, etc. Ability to create personalized programs and apps a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Information Technology Supervisor may have direct improvement processes, projects, and plans, however will supervise processes at the involvement of the VP Operations.

Ideal candidates:
Ideal candidates must possess strong interpersonal relationship skills. Displays a positive attitude and friendly personality towards internal and external customers. Candidates must possess strong verbal communication skills and the ability to handle difficult conversations in a calm and professional manner at all times. Emotional intelligence a plus. Beneficial to possess a basic sense for mechanical/electrical aptitude, troubleshooting, and problem-solving various mechanical and technical issues. Ability to program and develop products a plus!
